László Toroczkai: We are fighting for the Hungarian future against Golems

toroczkaifoto1

László Toroczkai appears to have already fired the promised missiles in September. The actions of the Our Homeland Movement are converging, a migrant camp has been prevented in Vitnyéd, the series of the Hazai Vásár (Home Fair) has started, the Hungulf Expo is being organised at Hungexpo, which is about building a new national economy, and on 23 October there will be a demonstration at the Turul statue, as they say, against the anti-Hungarian forces. The Mi Hazánk Mozgalom is not idle. We asked László Toroczkai about the political turbulence of recent weeks and months. We talked about golems in Brussels and Hungary, and even Toroczkai's family tree. Big interview.

- In our podcast interview at the beginning of September, we asked you when you would fire the missiles you promised on the night of the elections. Since then, things have picked up. A secret government plan was exposed and blocked in Vitnyed, a migrant camp under construction, millions of abandoned Covid masks were found near Csabdi, your video on water management spread like a guerrilla on Facebook reached millions of hits, and the first Domai Vásárum (Home Fair) was held with thousands of participants, In Geneva, the Hungarian parliamentary delegation was the only one of the world's parliaments to condemn what Israel is doing in Lebanon and Gaza, and now they are united in an unprecedented effort to protect the Turul statue in Budapest on 23 October, and the Hungulf Expo is being organised in full swing. Did you fire those particular rockets?

- You could say that, although I didn't slack off in the summer either, we achieved one of the most important dreams of my life, for example, by being able to create our own parliamentary group in the European Parliament. I am very proud of the creation of the Europe of Sovereign Nations Group in Brussels and of its work since then. I see it as an historic achievement; we did not crawl in somewhere slavishly and be told what to do. However, we are now preparing for a long-overdue, broad national rally on 23 October, when, together with a number of organisations, we will demonstrate our strength at the Turul statue in Budapest's 12th district, which the anti-Hungarian forces want to bring down. We will not let them! Let's show that Budapest is the capital of Hungarians!

- He is proud of the formation of the Brussels Group. So you have not given up on the European Union?

- We are in the heart of Europe, and it is natural that our first allies should be in Europe, or, to be more precise, in Eurasia, in the area of northern civilisation. We need a European alliance, we need cooperation. However, that is not what the current EU is about; it is an oppressive empire in Brussels that we need to change fundamentally. If we fail, then we must prepare for life outside the EU, but no one wants a truly independent national economy as the basis of Hungary, outside of Our Homeland, and no one has such a plan. The real rulers of the EU are invisible men, barely known to the public.

The masters are golems created and driven by international financial figures and global corporations, whose aim is to abolish nation states and turn people into faceless, rootless, soulless consumers.

They want cheap labour, slaves and consumers who live only on material goods. Self-conscious nations are no good because they can rebel, language, culture, common ancestry can hold a community together, which can then stand up for their rights and interests, and are therefore dangerous. We have known about these efforts for decades, but so far we have failed to stop these golems.

László Toroczkai

- Why do you think you will succeed now? You have the smallest group in the European Parliament.

- It may be the smallest and the newest, but you have to start somewhere. In fact, if we analyse the intentions of European voters in more depth, the majority of Europeans have already said no to these golems, and no to immigration, for example. Unfortunately, however, they are being misled by politicians, by political parties, and so their vote has been split. Three political groups have been formed to collect these European votes. The first is the pro-family, anti-immigration in words, but also one of the biggest supporters of Zelensky's regime and 'Pfizer' von der Leyen's girlfriend, the Party of European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), led by Giorgia Meloni. The second is the Patriots for Europe, which I call the businessmen's alliance, which also hosts Fidesz. Apart from business interests, what could possibly link Viktor Orbán with another founder of the Patriots, party president Andrej Babiš, whose party, the Czech ANO, has so far been a member of the most extreme liberal-globalist faction, Renew Europe? This group is the team of Emmanuel Macron, who still thinks like a banker, or Momentum in Hungary.

We are the third group to have chosen a Europe of nations instead of a United States of Europe.

In time, everyone will understand that we represent these principles clearly and honestly. If, for example, our ally, the German AfD, wins the elections in Germany, the most powerful state in the European Union, everything in the European Union will change overnight. They are not far away from that, already in first place in many provinces.

- Why didn't Zsuzsanna Borvendég attack Viktor Orbán as vehemently as Péter Magyar or Klára Dobrev at the European Parliament session?

- Because that debate was about the programme of the Hungarian EU Presidency, not about domestic policy in Hungary. It was about the relationship between Hungary and Brussels. Zsuzsanna Borvendég has already criticised corruption in Hungary in several other speeches in Strasbourg, and even said that only Our Homeland could credibly attack Fidesz's corruption. How credible can Péter Magyar, who is Ursula 'Pfizer' von der Leyen's man, be when he is not bothered by the corruption of his globalist bosses on a scale even greater than that of Hungary? When he has not a word to say about von der Leyen's EUR 35 billion, i.e. an unimaginable HUF 14,000 billion (!), corruption vaccine purchase? Of course, he was not bothered by the corruption of the NER, as long as he was its beneficiary. And we still remember the Gyurcsánys from before 2010. However, it is also a fact that Hungary has already fulfilled several so-called rule of law commitments that were a condition of Brussels, yet the withheld EU funds have not been released. Sometimes Ursula 'Pfizer' von der Leyen slips up and it turns out that supporting migration or same-sex marriage or child adoption is also a condition for EU money, not just curbing corruption in Hungary.

We strongly oppose linking the disbursement of EU funds to migration or homosexual demands, and we also oppose withholding money, because some of it could go to the Hungarian people or, for example, to local governments, and it cannot be withheld by a Brussels body controlled by golems.

As it is, more money is being pumped out of Hungary via global corporations to the West than is being transferred here. And the NER finances itself just as well without the retained EU money, it can't do anything else, otherwise it will collapse. Only this way, Fidesz takes more from the Hungarian budget, not from EU funds, and puts more of the burden on Hungarian workers. Ultimately, it is the Hungarian people who are the losers. I also find it bloodcurdling that Ursula 'Pfizer' von der Leyen and Manfred Weber paraded Péter Magyar around Strasbourg as if he were going to be put in Viktor Orbán's place. Fides must be replaced by the Hungarian people, not by foreign golems! Speaking of which, the Brussels elite must also be cleaned up if we want a Hungarian future. With our European allies, we want to eliminate Ursula von der Leyen and her gang, and we will not forget what they did during the Covid dictatorship.

- But they are not just looking westwards, as the first Hungulf Expo and Conference will be held on 9 November, with the aim of finding new trading partners outside the European Union, now specifically in the Gulf countries. Why is this necessary when the government is talking about it?

- The government is doing the opposite by basing its completely misguided economic policy on battery factories. On the contrary, we would build the Hungarian national economy on the Hungarian endowments of arable land, knowledge, tourism, the SME sector and innovation, and the state must also intervene in this, for example by means of land distribution, water management, the rebuilding of the food industry, complex tourism development and a research and development centre for Hungarian knowledge, a Hungarian Silicon Valley. It is also essential to take out the profiteers, the cartelists and the parasitic multinationals from trade.

That's why we launched the Home Fairs. The first one was a huge success, thousands of people came to Csongrád, we showed that there is a demand for good Hungarian food and other products to be delivered directly to Hungarian consumers, bypassing the hypermarkets.

For the time being, we have the strength to hold one such fair a month, always in a different county, but of course, if we could govern, we would have fairs like this everywhere all the time. Obviously, we cannot be self-sufficient in all areas, but where we can, we must supply Hungarian products to Hungarian customers, and that would be in the interest of Hungary as a whole. Of course, all this would require a much better government economic policy, capacity building, and a significant reduction in bureaucracy and taxes. The Hungarian Fairs are not only markets, but also demonstrations to raise awareness for a change in economic attitudes. I would like to thank all the organisers, our party director István Szabadi, our chief organiser József Bús, and our leader in Csongrád, Zsolt Laczkó, for organising the first fair. It was a great experience to be there, the initiative was a huge success. In November we will hold the next Home Fair in Móron.

- But if you want to strengthen the internal market, why do you need Hungulfra?

- We will only have a well-functioning economy if we can achieve a good position in international trade, in addition to supplying the domestic market. The Gulf countries can be the most stable markets for Hungary. The United Arab Emirates, for example, is the most stable economy in the world, but Saudi Arabia is also developing at an amazing pace, and Qatar is one of the richest countries in the world, just look at its GDP per capita. At the same time, the region's rich countries are largely desert, with 90% of their food imported. Our beekeepers are going broke in the European Union, and the government has let in Ukrainian honey rather than help. Meanwhile, the Gulf countries are among the world's biggest consumers of honey. I could go on and on about the many areas in which we could cooperate with these countries, and there is openness on the part of their political leaders towards us, but no one but Our Homeland is working seriously and effectively on these economic relations. The Hungulf Expo and Conference will be the first step in this direction. Working on this is essential for planning the future of Hungary, and while the other parties are often just clowning around, we would like to do some serious work from the opposition.

We are waiting for all interested visitors on 9 November at Hungexpo, where ninety selected Hungarian companies and producers will present their products, and you can taste and buy them on the spot.

There will also be presentations on our ideas for the national economy, a special honey conference, MEPs from our group from several countries and ambassadors from the Gulf countries. We are connecting the rich Gulf countries with the Hungarians, and these relations will be a solid basis for a well-functioning national economy in the future.

- Are there no golems in this country like the ones you talked about in Brussels?

Of course they would! Lőrinc Mészáros is such a golem, only much smaller than the golems behind, for example, Ursula von der Leyen. Years ago, I said that Viktor Orban simply envied and copied the international network that practically runs the world. There is a global network, a system with its money men, its asset managers, its media empires, its global corporations. The NER is a miniature version of that. Smaller, a bit more yellow, a bit more sour, but ours, as the classic says. The tragedy of being Hungarian is that we are simultaneously preyed upon by two networks, the global and the NER.

- They were also criticised for voting for the Fidesz president of the Pest county assembly. The largest county assembly in the country will have a Fidesz leader without a Fidesz majority.

- We had no other option. Fidesz became the biggest party in Pest county, so they were the only ones who could put up a candidate, there was simply no other candidate. We could not put up a candidate, we did not have enough votes. We did not want to become the plaything of DK and Momentum, because their plan would have caused anarchy, and the government would have used this as an excuse to deprive Pest county of the approximately HUF 7 billion in tax revenue that Samsung receives. So at least this 7 billion does not go into the bottomless and opaque bag of the NER, and we can control its use.

We will not vote for a single Fidesz proposal that could raise suspicions of corruption or the muddle of the uncle-my-god system.

If the budget is not completely clean, it will not pass unless Momentum or DK vote for Fidesz, but we certainly won't. We have done the best possible thing for the Hungarian people, because this way not only the 7 billion from Samsung, but every forint will go to a good cause in Pest county, and they will not be able to put a penny into the pockets of the buddies. Soon everyone will see how we operate. We will have the opportunity to stop corruption in Pest County, and we will do so.

- Momentum attacked Mi Hazánk in Pest county after the vote, while in Budapest the Fidesz party accused you, saying that Mi Hazánk was the reason Gergely Karácsony remained the mayor of Budapest.

- This also shows how Our Homeland is doing its job fairly. We cannot be bought by either side. Even though we felt the pressure, our candidate for mayor, András Grundtner, did not back down in favour of anyone and came third, receiving around 40,000 votes, while the difference between Gergely Karácsony and Dávid Vitézy was only a few votes. But what is Dávid Vitézy, who was the candidate of Fidesz and LMP, actually better than Gergely Karácsony? Vitézy represents the same unviable liberal approach that has made many western cities unlivable over the last decade or two. With him, there would certainly be rainbow-coloured benches and pedestrian crossings, but the persecution of motorists would continue, and the further promotion of 'multiculturalism', which could lead to a steady deterioration of public safety in Budapest, as we have seen in Paris or London. Vitézy was such an unacceptable candidate that even István Tarlós, as he said quite boldly in an interview, voted for the candidate of Our Country.

- Is Dávid Vitézy really a Fidesz man?

- Of course. I think it's clear to everyone by now (After this interview, on 20 October, Antal Csárdi announced that he was quitting LMP, because he saw evidence that Antal Rogán and Péter Ungár had agreed in advance on Dávid Vitézy's candidacy - ed.). Fidesz spent hundreds of millions on Alexandra Szentkirályi's campaign, only to have it withdrawn in favour of Dávid Vitézy. This was Fidesz's master plan, but it did not work, and in fact their plan failed on Mi Hazán.

Dávid Vitézy belongs to the family of Viktor Orbán.

Her mother is Ágnes Hankiss, the daughter of Péter Erdős, the pop music censor of the Kádár regime, and a Fidesz MEP until 2014. Dávid Vitézy's political career began when he was a teenager at the Lauder Javne Jewish Community School, where he founded the Fidesz-affiliated Urban and Suburban Transport Association. In January 2007, Fidesz appointed him to the Supervisory Board of the Budapest Transport Company. He later served as a government commissioner in the Orbán government, and as state secretary in 2022. It is obvious that Dávid Vitézy is a Fidesz man. The more interesting questions are raised by the fact that it has emerged that Vitézy has been secretly consulting with Péter Magyar. Although the Fidesz accuse us of not having made Dávid Vitézy mayor because of us, I am rather proud of that.

- Could this be the reason why Fidesz launched the national leaflet campaign in the run-up to the elections, in which they wanted to discredit Our Fatherland and you personally? Was this Fidesz's revenge for not having dismissed András Grundtner? You referred to this earlier.

- Such a national leaflet campaign can cost 50-100 million forints, but what is more telling is that only Fidesz currently has a national distribution network that can do this. These distributors would not even export anonymous, defamatory leaflets. It is likely that Gábor Kubatov personally directed this operation.

- This is only a conclusion so far.

- But it was the content of the leaflets that made it clear, since Fidesz had already openly spread these accusations in 2006. It tried to discredit me with that infamous photo, which I have explained a million times when and how it was taken, but obviously there are still those who can be misled by it. On the night of the siege of the TV station, I was sitting in a police car talking into a loudspeaker. This was taken when the crowd had already taken over the TV house and the commander of Rebis on the scene, Colonel Majoros Zoltán, came to me and told me that they, the police, were giving up the fight, putting down their weapons and personally helping me to get a representative of the TV to take the petition I had with me. In return, he asked me to tell the crowd to stop the violence because the police would give up the fight and take the petition.

As the hand-held PA was soaked and not working, they offered me to get into the police car and tell the crowd through the PA what was going on. I'm talking to hundreds of people on screen, so it's not a secret scene.

This is the moment depicted in the photo that Fidesz has been spreading lies to discredit me since 2006.

- Your family is also mentioned in the leaflets, with your great-great-grandfather, the blood judge who sentenced Maria Wittner to death, proving that you are not a right-winger.

- This is also very boring, Fidesz has been spreading this abuse for a long time now. I myself wrote in my book published in 2005 who my great-grandfather was, whom I did not know, partly because he died seven years before I was born, but mainly because he had already divorced my great-grandmother in his thirties and abandoned his three small children, including my grandmother. Gusztáv Vazul Tutsek then moved to Budapest, where he had a new family, and my great-grandmother raised my grandmother alone in very difficult circumstances, throughout her life. She never married again. So, apart from blood relations, I have nothing to do with Gusztáv Tutsek Vazul, but I am actually grateful for this unceasing attack, because it has allowed me to get to know his entire family tree, about which I knew almost nothing in the past. It turned out that his mother, my great-grandmother, was Izabella Szilágyi Székelyföldvári, who came from a noble family that can trace the family tree back to the Szilágyi family of Horogszeg, which also gave King Matthias' mother, Erzsébet Szilágyi Szilágyi. Our earliest ancestor, as far back as we can trace the family tree from my great-grandmother, is the son of Miklós of Bernolch, Mihály Szilágyi of Vervölgyi, who was the uncle of Mihály Szilágyi, the governor of Hungary and the captain of the castle at the triumph of Nándorfehérvár. His father was Tutsek Gusztáv Vazul, who was a member of parliament between 1906 and 1910 for the Independence and 48 Party. His brother was the writer Anna Tutsek, popular with conservative audiences in the first half of the 20th century, whose fellow author was Kálmán Mikszáth's sister-in-law Kornélia Mauks, whom she bade farewell on behalf of literature on her death.

So I have nothing to be ashamed of as far as the family is concerned, and as far as Gusztáv Vazul Tutsek is concerned, Mária Wittner herself, whom I had known since I was a young girl, told me in my book to "untie myself", not to carry this cross, because I cannot be responsible for my great-grandfather's actions, especially since we did not know him.

Interview with László Toroczkai's father, Dr. László Tóth, in the 12 May 2001 issue of Délmagyarország

- In this anonymously distributed smear campaign, it was also pointed out that Toroczkai is not his real name, as he was born as Laszlo Tóth. Why did he change his name? Was he ashamed?

- No! It is also a broken bone, I have told and written the story of it many times. When I was a student at the Budapest Media Institute, the communications department of Attila József University, two of my teachers, Henrik Havas and László Zöldi, warned us that you cannot become a journalist with dozens of names. The five most common surnames in Hungary are Nagy, Kovács, Tóth, Szabó, Horváth, and in total more than a million people bear these surnames in Hungary.

László Tóth was one of the most common names in the nineties, so there was no question that I should choose a pen name. Since many of my ancestors had lived in Torocko centuries ago, I chose the name Toroczkai, all the more so because I had been writing articles under that name since I was a teenager, so I could keep my initials.

I also wrote in the Hungarian Forum under the name Toroczkai back in 1997. Then, in 1998, I was the youngest candidate in the parliamentary elections, running for MIÉP in constituency No. 2 in Csongrád County, where another independent, László Tóth, ran against me, who caused a lot of trouble, confused people and took many votes away from me. It was upsetting. After that I officially took the name Toroczkai, and since then it has been on my identity card, and I have lived most of my life as Toroczkai. By the way, I have just recently received the 12 May 2001 issue of the daily newspaper Délmagyarország, which contains an interview with my father, Dr. László Tóth, who died last year. I am happy to share it with the readers again. I'm not ashamed of my father's name, I can only be proud of him, who served his hometown of Szeged as a municipal councillor between 1998 and 2002, and from the mid-1990s was the very successful president of the Hungarian Justice and Life Party (MIÉP) in Szeged. He had never been a member of any party before, including the MSZMP, and his father, my grandfather, was also a staunch anti-communist, and my father was brought up in the same way. As a member of parliament he prevented several cases of suspected corruption. As a lawyer, I have him and Tamas Gaudi-Nagy to thank for the fact that I could not be imprisoned for a longer period of time during the Gyurcsány governments, because they were my legal representatives in those difficult times. My father was able to get me into the Gyorskocsi Street detention centre with his lawyer's card when I was detained there after anti-government demonstrations between 2006 and 2010, and he ran after the police car when I was dragged away in handcuffs from my home, next to my kindergarten-age child, by the Fidesz government police in 2012, simply because I wanted to hand over a petition to the IMF leaders. I owe him a lot. He was also a founding member of Our Country. Well, that is how much of a communist family I come from, as this vile, anonymous leaflet was trying to suggest.
